Christmas Snowballs

HOW TO MAKE BATH SNOWBALLS

These fragrant spheres for the bath (we scented ours with peppermint oil) are made by packing Epsom salts into a plastic mold. The bath "snowballs" can be tinted any color. You'll need 3 to 4 days to make the bath balls because of the drying time between steps. Makes 2 large or 4 small balls.
Tools and Materials2 cups Epsom salts
2 tablespoons water
A few drops essential oil(s)
1 drop food coloring, plus more if desired
Special equipment: plastic pipette, large or small round bath-ball molds, storage jars
Directions
1. Stir together Epsom salts and water in a mixing bowl. Using pipette, add oil, 1 drop at a time, until strength of scent is to your liking. Add food coloring, 1 drop at a time, until desired shade is achieved; stir until color is even throughout.
2. Spoon a generous amount of mixture (more than necessary) into 1/2 of a bath-ball mold. Pack firmly. Repeat, packing mixture into second half of mold. Press pieces together until they connect. Remove top half of mold very carefully. Let bath ball stand, mold side down, overnight (set ball on an overturned jar lid to keep it from tipping over).
3. Remove mold carefully. Invert, and let ball dry completely, 2 to 3 days more. Transfer to jars.

Gift-Packaging Idea
Use a glass kitchen canister to present the bath balls, which the recipient can then display on a vanity. Wrap the jar with ribbon, tying a bow at the top, and add a vellum gift tag threaded with cord in a matching colour.

I found this lovely gift idea from Martha Stewart's gift idea's .  It looks easy to make, I thought Mia and I could try this on the weekend.  Mia loves creating pretty things and I am sure she would love to give these as gifts for Christmas to her cousins.

Keep cool

All Images - Pinterest

Summer is here (well not quite) and I am certainly feeling the heat!   Looking at these pictures makes me want to dive and laze around in cool water.

I am starting to feel a little relaxed as the boys have finished their exams and school for the year.  My husband came up with a lovely idea on Saturday night, the three of them are going to go on a surfing trip for a week to Victoria.  I love the idea of them bonding and having boy (men) time together.

We are off to Moreton Island for Christmas with my sister and her family.  I can't wait to spend time with them and to swim in the beautiful clear waters of Moreton.

The lovely Julie-Ann from Decorating Forum has asked me to feature my blog on their forum this week.  You can read it and other beautiful blogs from here.

Enjoy today!

Awnings

Love this awning and the Front Door!

Hooray it is Friday!

A busy week has been had by all the family.  My boys have had exams all week, Mia had a Talent Quest she competed in.  I had an exam for Colour Psychology, I am crossing my fingers that I have passed and more to the point that my beautiful hardworking boys have passed.  It is the last day of school for the boys they are very excited (I don't know if I am).

It was our 20th Wedding Anniversary on Wednesday, we celebrated by going out to dinner with the boys and Mia, we had a lovely evening.

I have exciting news I have picked up some interior work, helping a friend decorate her formal lounge and dining room.  I helped pick paint colours for their exterior of their beautiful home.  They really new what they wanted they just needed reassurance.

My client (hehe) wants an awning on one of her windows, I sent her the above photos and more so she can choose a style.  She would like Black and White (love b & w awnings).  Which would you pick?  I like photo 1 and 4.

I will stop by your posts today and catch up on what my gorgeous. inspiring blog friends have been doing this week.

Take care

and

Happy weekend to you!

Colour

Beautiful colours to share on a Friday!

Friday yippee!

My beautiful friend another Mimi and her son are coming to Brisbane tonight.  I and my family can't wait.  Mimi is like an older sister to me.  She came into my life when I was twelve she used to work with my mum ( i say mum as mum never liked being called Mother).  I could not get enough of her when I was young, I used to love it when she came to visit.  She actually lived with us for awhile, I was in heaven.     On the weekends she would take Mum, my sister and I up to the Dandenong's to visit her parents and we would spend many a Sunday picnicking or lunching at her Mum's.  Beautiful memories!

We have so much in common we love design and decorating and we sit on the phone for ages discussing the latest in Home Beautiful, House and Garden, Country Style etc....  This weekend we can do it in person with our cups of tea and a wad of magazines, I guess this may sound boring but we love it.

Happy weekend to you and thank you for your lovely comments all week.

Have fun and be happy!

Vintage

Pinterest

Bring back Vintage for Tiffany and Co, I say.  Love this packaging!

Two more weeks to go until I finish studying Colour Psychology, it has been an amazing course and journey, not what I expected at all.  I really can embrace colour now.   I can't wait until I move back into my house so I can decorate it with more colour.

Happy Wednesday!

It is a dogs life!

I had to show you this cute photo that Mia took of our Dog Max.   Max is happy, has a wonderful and easy going nature,  he can be a little nutty, maybe that is the Cocker Spaniel in him but that makes him more adorable.  If you are thinking of getting a dog, I recommend a Spoodle.

He is the perfect dog for our family, we just love him.

Enjoy your Wednesday!

A quite weekend!

My divine husband bought me these beautiful Lilies on Friday as well as some new Perfume and body lotion  (Armani Code)  I have been very spoilt.

I bought these Tea Light Glasses from Wheel and Barrow in James Street on the weekend.  They had a beautiful glow when I lit them.  They come in different colours but I had to buy this green-blue just to appease my blue-green fetish.

We had a really quite weekend, Steve and I had a little time to ourselves we went to James Street had a coffee, looked at some shops it was lovely to spend some time together even if it was for a short time.  What about you?

Today I am going to start writing out lists of what I need to do, I never right anything down, I think this is why I get distracted, not anymore - a new me!

Enjoy today!

Blue-Green

I just want to dive into this colour, I can't get enough of it at the moment,  this colour makes me feel happy and at peace.

I dug out some blue-green bottles and vases to dot around our home last week and bought European Pillow cases in this colour,  if I have time today I would like to buy a throw for the end of the bed.

Well I better get cracking and get on with my jobs so I can hit the shops.

Enjoy today and  your weekend!

Noosa Tri

 The Team

 The family

Can you see Steve?...  I tried to get as close as I could (without being in the water)

If you look past the runner, Alex is on his bike!

 Sammy running!

Time for a coffee and a gorgeous slice with a Lemon Myrtle icing, Delicious!  I went back for another slice yesterday before we went home!
Costa Noosa Cafe at Sunshine Beach.

Wow what a weekend at Noosa.  I have never seen it sooo busy.  The atmosphere was electrifying.  The boys did really well they came 19th out of 90ish something  families, I am very proud of them.  It was a great bonding weekend for them.  The boys had a ball, Mia and I hardly saw them, they were getting freebies here there and everywhere.  Steve did come back on Saturday afternoon with a bag full of goodies (not free) but he and the boys were very excited with there Tri - purchases.
They are already planning for next year!

Off to lunch today and the track!

Happy Melbourne Cup Day!
