Simplicity

Image from Country Home

Don't you just love the simplicity of this gorgeous deck!

We moved homes on the weekend, boy oh boy that was certainly hard work.  I am still recovering.  I only got the computer and TV connected yesterday.  It has been quite nice not having Television.  I did miss my computer though.
I have unpacked and set up home.  My children said to me "you have made a lovely home Mum,
thank you".  It was so emotional for all of us, I am relieved that they feel happy!

Enjoy your weekend!

Easter

Beautiful Jonquils!

As Easter is just around the corner, I thought I would share some images that I think are cute and gorgeous and I have included "How to Make Paper Egg Baskets".
My daughter wants to make some baskets for her little buddies at school.

These pastel paper bags decorated with construction paper are a whimsical alternative to the traditional woven baskets.
Tools and Materials
Colored paper bags and construction paper (both available at craft stores)
Eyelet kit (available at sewing stores)
Utility knife
Flower and Leaf templates
Microhole punch (or awl)
Hammer

2-foot length of 2-inch-wide wired ribbon

Paper Easter Baskets How-To

1. Fold down the top of each bag four times, creating a 1 1/2-inch-wide band.
2. Trace Flower and Leaf templates onto construction paper (or create your own shapes). Cut them out with a utility knife.
3. Using a microhole punch or an awl, pierce the center of each flower, the base of each leaf, and the front of the bag, or its band. Arrange flowers and leaves on the bag so that all the holes line up.
4. Push a metal eyelet through the holes from the outside of the bag in. Insert the eyelet post (included in the kit) into the back of the eyelet; hammer from the back of the eyelet until the eyelet flattens.
5. Punch holes at each end of the band, and fit with the eyelets. Thread the wired ribbon through the holes; knot to secure, and trim the ends

What do you think?

One of my most dearest and beautiful friends is thinking about importing these gorgeous Bone and Mother of Pearl inlay pieces into Australia.  She has asked me to ask you;  what do you think?
I would love to read your thoughts!

Enjoy your Monday!

Our New Home..

This is our new home (as from next weekend)

What a relief to have found a home for us to move to.  We had two houses to choose from.  One house was two suburbs away from where we live or we had the above house which is in the same suburb where we presently live.  We made a family decision and decided on this house as it is close to Mia's school and the boys friends, which I think is very important as I love having the boys and their friends in our home on the weekends.
I look forward to creating a home for us!

Take care and have a lovely weekend.

More colour!

Today I received my first assignment back and I passed, I am so excited.  The assignment was on colour. I have always been afraid to use colour but now feel confident in using it.  My next project is to decorate a lounge and dining room in a particular style.  I think I am going to use an Elegant style.  I have been to Warwick Fabrics and have chosen some colours.  Oh I hope I will do well.

Enjoy your evening.

On the move

Our  home!

We came to a decision two weeks ago to rent our home out as we have been trying to sell it and can't. Its official it is rented and we have to move out in just over two weeks. OMG there is not much for us to rent. We looked at a house on Wednesday night; I was absolutely disgusted in the filth. A lady who was looking at the house at the same time asked if I had looked in the pantry, I said I could not bring myself to place my hands on anything, she told me the cupboard was full of Moths. I then go outside to see my husband resting his hands on this bath mat that I don't think would have ever been washed, he was talking to the Real Estate Agent, I was trying to get his attention to let him know what he was leaning on but it did not work. We laughed after we left.

Off to another house this morning. I am trying to stay positive but am finding it quite difficult.

Wish us luck!

Have a lovely weekend.

Patterns...

Images House Beautiful

We have been learning about Patterns at Design School.  I came across these patterned Kitchen floors.  Which do you like!  I am not really into Patterned Floors so my pic would be the Parquetry Floor.
