Swing time....

A perfect place for a swing!

Our swing

Mia loves her swing that Steve made!

I really do believe the simple things in life are just so wonderful!
This swing has brought so much joy and happiness for Mia and her little friends.

Thank you for all of your lovely comments over the past few weeks!  I really enjoy reading them but more importantly I love to read your blogs!

Enjoy your weekend.

Lofts

Image - Carr Design Group

I just had to share this picture with you, I saw it over at Louise's blog Table Tonic, the clean lines of this loft make such an impact and of course the colours Black and White which I just love.

I have a very busy day to day, my boys are playing Basketball at Ipswich, my daughter has Musical Theatre, I then have to tie die some singlets for her and my nieces as they are going to a Hippies Disco Party next weekend but the best thing of all, my online business is just buzzing with orders so I will be sending out lots of pj's.  I am sure you all have busy Saturdays.  Have a wonderful weekend!

Garden Gates

This is the front of our home

Gorgeous Gate!

Images - Veranda

We are about to put a gate on the front entrance and I am finding it sooo hard to choose the right type of gate.   We have a huge Sandstone Wall, with pickets (as you can see from the photo).  Any idea's on what we should do?

Table Tennis

Games Room

Our Family Room

My beautiful son Sam turned 14 on Monday;  he received some money from my Dad and has been saving his pocket money.  Sam decided it would be a great idea to buy a Table Tennis table, so my gorgeous sister took him to Kmart and he bought his table.  He could not set it up that night as we were taking him out for dinner.

Tuesday morning my husband looked at a piece of the table and it was damaged, so after school we went back to Kmart with part of the table and they replaced it.  Poor Sam he had to wait until Wednesday evening before my husband could set it up.  Well now it is up and it is in the family room, (not looking pretty), I must say we have had fun but it has got to be moved.  (Garage I think).  If only we had a games room!

Have a lovely weekend!

Moo Moo

Images from Moo Moo Restuarant

Two days ago my boss, his wife and I were looking for a restuarant for our work Christmas Party, we had a few restaurants in mind.  We have decided on
Moo Moo Restaurant.
The building and decor  are  just gorgeous, the fabrics on the chairs are exquisite!  There are two function rooms one is so masculine and the other great for a ladies lunch.

I am looking  forward to our Christmas Party!   Has anyone been there?

Enjoy your Wednesday!

Painted Floors

We are thinking about painting our "Summerhouse Floor",  I came across this "How to paint your floor" from Elle Decor.  I thought you might like the instructions!  I will keep you posted on how we went.

Here are Lahey’s step-by-step instructions for a foolproof painted wood floor:

• scarify the surface with 150-grit sandpaper
• wash the floor with a powdered detergent cleaner to remove all dust and deposits
• allow floor to dry completely (this may take a couple of days)
• apply a primer suitable for your paint type
• allow primer to dry overnight
• lightly sand primer with 220-grit sandpaper
• wipe floor clean with mineral spirits, using tack cloth or a rag
• apply the first, thin coat of paint with a natural-bristle brush (which creates a smooth finish, rather than with a roller, which creates a stippled finish)
• allow paint to dry 24 hours
• apply two more thin coasts, allowing 24 hours between each

After the final coat of paint, it’s acceptable to walk on the surface in socks after 24 hours. “But we really don’t want high heels or to drag that piano yet,” says Lahey. “An alkyd paint dries overnight, but takes 28 days to cure to maximum hardness.”

Nearly Halloween

I can't imagine carving all these Pumpkins!

Our Mia is so excited Halloween is soon, she can't stop talking about what she and her cousins will dress up as (witches).  Around our suburb there are quite a few streets that go all out for Halloween, it's great to see the community get into the spirit. I look forward to seeing the decorations and the excitement from the children.   (I better start stocking the pantry with lollies).

My favourite would be the Hedge of Rhododendrons.
I wonder if they would survive in Brisbane?
