First School Camp

I had to share this photo with you,  my beautiful little Mia went on School Camp yesterday for the first time.  She was very excited and quite anxious.
Her teacher sent me this photo of Mia, she had just climbed to the top of a Giant Swing.  This is a break through for us because she is not one to do challenging things.  I text back and congratulated her and said when we put our minds to anything we can do it.
We have been very fortunate this year to have a teacher that has brought out the best in Mia and to be so thoughtful and kind. We can't believe the difference in Mia's confidence at school and we really have to thank her teacher for bringing out the best in Mia.

I miss you Mia, I miss your singing, Alexander said last night "would you like me to sing for you Mum?"  I said yes and could you dance around the house as well.  It was way too quite for me!.

Happy Weekend and thank you for all your beautiful comments and following my blog! xxx

  1. It looks like she is having so much fun at the camp and growing in confidence as an individual. Don't you just want to bottle these years and keep them forever.

  2. Mimi - she looks SO proud of herself and so happy. Nothing better than a good teacher than helps the kids along. We had some issues last term with our grade 2 boy who had lost so much confidence (he wasn't even eating his lunch). We spoke with the school and his teacher and they have helped him along and now he is back to normal. It makes your heart smile when the kids are happy doesn't it.

Have a great weekend in Noosa (-:

  4. This may well be a giant turning point for your precious girl Mimi. What's the song title..'from little things big things grow'.
Coming from an education background I know her teacher will also be pleased as punch!

  5. Oh I remember how anxious you get when your child goes to their first camp, you miss them terribly, sounds like she has a gem of a teacher though to put your mind at rest. Oh how they grow...have a lovely weekend xx

  6. My daughter had her first camp last night - actually all the grade 4 girls just slept in the library - 56 noisy girls. The poor teachers.
Well done Mia on climbing the big swing.

  8. So quiet at our house too last night. I asked Miss Flea if she missed Big Girl ... no she said. Then she told me one of her friends wasn't at Kindy that day. I asked Miss Flea if she missed her. Yes, she said. Talk about sibling rivalry ... cheeky monkey! I can only but agree on the fabulous teacher comment too. We've been so fortunate this year. Enjoy your Noosa weekend.

How could you not want to jump through that photo and gobble her up - she is delicious. You need congratulating on being such a fantastic mother and seeing your product be growing so beautifully.

  11. School camps are always such a big deal - they always love them or hate them & you never know which one you'll get! It sounds like this one is a good one.

  12. It is great that Mia is enjoying her camp and I can relate to the confidence thing school has helped my daughter a lot. She hasn't been on school camp yet but given how much I miss her when she sleeps away I know I will feel like you. Gx
